This meeting on research into children’s books and reading is prompted by the fact that alongside a thriving children’s book industry, publishers are increasingly turning their attention to scholarly work on the sector. This has led to a broader understanding of children’s publishing and its history, with in-depth studies into the various genres and the importance of reading in the educational process.
