In 2018 ALDUS events mainly concentrate in two areas:

  • Innovation Summit at The ARTS+

The discussion on innovation support to creative industries started in the past editions of the ARTS+ enter into its final stage.  Gathering different stakeholders from the creative and cultural sectors, the summit will consist in three complementary events on the day of Wednesday 10th October and will be followed by a press event on Thursday 11th Oct.

 

  • EUPL events

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of EUPL, different events  will engage the audience in collaboration with Frankfurt Book Fair. From the traditional Tuesday morning coffee a to a reading of EUPL winners, this year people will have the opportunity to discover the national/publishers’ stand connected with an EUPL winner and participate to a competition for EUPL prizes through social media.

The Arts+ Innovation Summit

The Arts+ Innovation Summit is part of ARTS+ Programme that offers a range of professional learning and networking opportunities, from panel discussions, lectures and case study presentations to matchmaking sessions, pitching events, performances, film screenings, workshops and guided tours. Abstract: THE ARTS+ Innovation Summit aims to explore structural innovation barriers, and search for possible solutions for adequate innovation support ecosystems – in Europe, but also on a national scale.Digitisation and new technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality and blockchain can trigger innovation at all levels of the cultural and creative sectors. At present, it seems that each player – and each sector – is grappling with these innovation challenges on its own. But what if there was a wider European innovation support ecosystem, one that cut transaction costs and advanced the creative sectors to the digital level? What if the creative sectors were given all the opportunities they deserve in light of their shared position as a key sector in Europe? What are the best ways to fuel tech-triggered innovation in the cultural and creative sectors? THE ARTS+ Innovation Summit aims to help build an ecosystem for adequate innovation support frameworks in Europe, but also at the national scale. The summit consists of three complementary components:

Tuesday/ 9 Oct

Title: EUPL sponsors Tuesday morning coffee at the Fair
Abstract: In the morning of the 9th October, come and drink coffee and learn more about EUPL winners in the Literary Agents & Scouts Centre as well as in the Publisher’s Rights Corner. The event is an occasion to promote the EUPL winners among literary agents, thus enhancing the possibility for the awarded works and authors to be translated into several languages. The European Stories anniversary publication will be available for distribution along with other promotional material.

Title: EUPL Laureates at Frankfurt Pavilion

Tuesday-Friday / 9-13 October

Title: EUPL at Frankfurt Book Fair
Abstract: A map, which indicates all national stands with the respective EUPL winners and their publishers will be produced in both German and English and will be distributed to fair guests, who are participating in organised tours. People attending the guided tours and participants of the bookfairs will be invited to take a selfie at the publisher’s/ national stand, maybe with an EUPL winning book or EUPL promotional material (if present). There will be prizes awarded to those posting the most popular pictures on Twitter, tagging @EUPLPrize and using the hashtags #EUPLinFrankfurt & #fbm18.
