ALDUS comes to Salone Internazione del Libro di Torino with a series of events addressing differents aspects of the book value chain, from 9 to 13 May 2019.

Starting from the Programmatic Supply Chain Document developed by the Group of Small-Sized Publishers of the Italian Publishers Association, the events will address topics of interest for all the players of the book value chain: promotion, distribution and bookshops.

A special focus will be also devoted to accessibility, thanks to the collaboration of Fondazione LIA.

The first of three meetings organized by the Group of Small-Sized Publishers of the Italian Publishers Association developed starting  from the Programmatic Supply Chain Document: a program shared with the different operators, with the aim of improving and modernizing the entire Italian publishing market. Publishing promotion is the first topic to be addressed.

Bookshops remain the main channel for buying books in Italy. It is the showcase where readers learn about new titles, authors and imprints. It is the channel where it is possible to choose among whatever the market offers. Where it is possible to browse the books and choose which ones to buy and read.

Reading in the dark with Francesca Pieri and Alice Basso

Two authors and readers with visual disabilities will alternatively read some passages of books by using different ways of use, in a context of darkness. An engaging experience to understand the importance of digital accessibility and the socio-cultural inclusion of people with visual impairments.

Monday May 13th

Perchè produrre e-book accessibili?

Reach a wider range of readers, improve the quality of the e-books published and be compliant with the evolution of the relevant legislation: these are just some of the many benefits for a publisher to make its catalogue accessible to every reader and also accessible for people with visual impairments.
