Book World Prague

The International Book Fair and Literary Festival Book World Prague is heading to its 30th anniversary in 2025 with the Guest of Honor Portugal.

The festival has always a unique focus of the particular year reflecting current cultural situation and tendencies in thinking and has become the most important literary event of the Czech Republic with continuous development in each year.

With its thematic program scope, it supports cultural education and gives an overview not only in the field of literature.Through a richly structured program it introduces to visitors – experts and lay public – global literary and cultural heritage. As a part of the literary festival, around 400 programmes with more than 600 performers from dozens of European and international countries take place every year. It is filled with professional seminars, author readings, presentations by publishers, meetings with writers, awards ceremonies for outstanding publishing and creative achievements as well as a few side cultural happenings (music concerts, slam poetry performances and literature related exhibitions). Very popular part of the festival became The Growing with the Book pavilion project and a program venue designed for children and youth focused literature.

The CEEBM (Central and East European Book Market) as a hub for experts and professionals in the book industry was established within the Book World Prague in 2023. It is to serve as a showcase of the Central and Eastern European book business. The second edition in 2024 brought together nearly 100 rights managers for discussions. The CEEBM Business Centre is located in the Bohemia Pavilion, a renovated fin-de-siècle building at the edge of the fairgrounds. It provides a quiet, pleasant, and well-equipped space exclusively reserved for registered professionals, where you can conduct business meetings or engage in various networking activities.

The Book World Prague traditionally brings important insights into global literary and cultural topics and mediates valuable contacts and knowledge across the entire book industry and professions represented in it.
