Limassol Book Fair

Limassol Book Fair is a leading cultural initiative focusing on the Book Industry and Letters. It is a private, grassroots, non-profit organization born from industry professionals. It aspires to become a regional hub where neighboring stakeholders (Europe and MENA) can meet and share insights on mutual issues concerning Letters, Books, and Culture. At the same time, it aims at stimulating all areas of the local book industry, such as publishing, bookselling, printing and production, online and offline marketing, editorial and other literary areas.

Modelled after the leading international book fairs, the organization hosts the annual Book Fair in Limassol which consists of the Limassol Book Fair Conference and the General Fair. The annual Conference caters to agents, academics, booksellers, authors, translators, marketeers, distributors and other industry professionals. This is the first industry specific conference ever held on the island and it has already attracted international interest as it grows in both scope and length. The General Fair caters to publishers, booksellers, authors, academics, state entities, embassies, municipalities, cultural institutions, book lovers and artists, both local, regional, and international.

In 2022, the inaugural fair took place at Carob Mills, Limassol with over 5.000 attendees, over 70 international and Cypriot speakers, over 60 events, 44 exhibitors from Cyprus and Greece and multiple industry professionals. From the very first year, Limassol Book Fair succeeded in building partnerships, amongst others, with Frankfurt and Thessaloniki International Book Fairs, Creative Europe, the House of Representatives, Limassol Municipality, the Cyprus University of Technology and the Cyprus Publishers Association.

The aim of Limassol Book Fair is to lead as cultural influencer on the island and a cultural beacon for our region. Culture is a major business industry on to itself, it is sustainable, environmentaly neutral and it promotes core democratic values such as social inclusion, freedom of expression, multiculturalism, strengthening of one’s identity. Cyprus culture diplomacy at its finest.
