In order to promote and spread Argentine literature and culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Argentine Republic decided to establish a programme of financial support for national literature. Thus began Prosur (support programme for translations) set up in 2009 to promote the translation of written works by Argentine authors, to encourage their publication in foreign languages and thus spread national culture, ideas and values.
