The Fundação Biblioteca Nacional is an agency of the Brazilian Ministry of Culture and is the institution responsible for promoting and handling the distribution of incentives for the spread of Brazilian literature - and Brazilian books - both at home and abroad. More specifically, it provides funds for publishers who want to translate and publish Brazilian authors through a Programme of Awards for translations of works by Brazilian authors.
